About Us

Strong After Cancer is dedicated to empowering cancer survivors to regain their strength and confidence through community and holistic health, with an emphasis on lifestyle modifications. Founded by a passionate cancer survivor and elite powerlifter, our community offers support, education, and resources to help individuals thrive during and after cancer treatment.

We understand the unique challenges faced by cancer survivors, especially Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) patients. We provide a safe space for individuals to share their experiences, access personalized training programs, and connect with others on a similar journey. We believe in the transformative power of exercise and aim to inspire and uplift survivors to embrace life beyond cancer with resilience and determination.

LaShae's Story

LaShae is a cancer patient and a third-year PhD student specializing in cancer prevention. Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, she is now based in Miami, FL. When she was diagnosed with cancer while pursuing her PhD, LaShae faced a pivotal choice: to break down and quit or to persevere and continue her journey. She chose to persevere.

Now, LaShae’s mission is to support others affected by cancer through advocacy and research. Her passion has always been to serve minority and marginalized communities. After being diagnosed at age 26, she dedicated herself to serving adolescents and young adults (AYAs), one of the fastest-growing underserved groups in oncology. AYAs are caught between the worlds of pediatric and adult oncology and face a unique set of medical and emotional challenges. LaShae is committed to addressing these challenges and supporting this community through her work and dedication.
